Yastika Bhatia’s Childhood
Yastika Bhattia is a cricketer from Vadodara, Gujarat, India. Yashika Bhatia was born in the year 2000. She is a 21-year-old Indian cricketer who has represented her country since she was a child. Yastika graduated from Delhi Public School, Vadodara, with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and afterwards attended Amity University for her advanced study.
Yastika Bhatia is from a medical family; her father, Shri Harish Bhatia, is a physician, and her mother, Garima Bhatia, is a surgeon. Yastika’s family pushed on her participating in sports and aspiring to be a good athlete from the start, which is where her cricketing career began. Yastika’s elder sister’s name is Josita bhatia, and they used to train together, but she eventually abandoned cricket to pursue a career in medicine.
Domestic Career of Yastika Bhatia
Yastika Bhatia made a promising start to his cricket career. Yastika participated for the West Zone Baroda U-19 team in 2016, where she scored 230 runs to lead her team to win. During the same season, she hit a first ODI century against Maharastra. She was later picked for the U-19 NCA academy, which is led by the current Indian national coach, Rahul Dravid.
In the 2016-17 season, Yastika led the Baroda squad. Many people in the cricket world feel she will be the future women’s captain.
At the National Under-23 Women’s Tournament, Yastika Bhatia struck a T20 century against Manipur. Given her outstanding domestic accomplishments, Yastika Bhatia received her first national call-up from the India squad in 2021.
International Career of Yastika Bhatia
Harmanpreet Kaur was injured in a series against New Zealand in February 2021, giving Yastika her first chance to shine, although she did not earn any playing time.
Yastika was called up to the national team again in September 2021 for a series against Australia. She eventually got an opportunity to play this time, making her Women’s One Day International debut on September 21, 2021.
Yastika Bhatia scored a superb 64 in the third ODI, leading her team to victory with a match-winning partnership of 101 runs. She made her Test debut against Australia on September 30, 2021, and her T20I debut on October 7, 2021.
Yastika earned a 102 ball 86 versus India D while playing for India A in the women’s Challenger Trophy final in December 2021.
Bhatia was picked to India’s team for the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand in January 2022.
