Shetty was born in Bombay on November 5, 1992, to actors Suniel Shetty and Mana Shetty (now Mumbai). While her mother was born to a Gujarati Muslim father and a Punjabi Hindu mother, her father is a member of the Tulu-speaking Bunt tribe. Her younger sibling Ahan Shetty, who made his acting debut in the movie Tadap, is also an actor (2021).

Career

She first attended American School of Bombay before transferring to The Cathedral & John Connon School in South Mumbai. She used to perform in school shows alongside Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff when she was in school. Athiya always wanted to pursue an acting profession, so after completing her education, she relocated to New York City and enrolled at the New York Film Academy.

Due to her parents, Athiya Shetty was well-known in the film business even before she made her debut. Her biggest obstacle was creating her own personality in B-town. Athiya Shetty made her acting début in 2015 in the Nikhil Advani-directed remake of the classic 1983 movie “Hero,” in which she starred alongside Sooraj Pancholi.
