2022 ISL Points Table Rules
The ISL clubs compete in the league stages with the fundamental goal of qualifying in the top four teams in the points table as they go to the playoffs, while the others are eliminated for the season. Nevertheless, a few regulations govern how the teams are ranked in the ISL Points Table. Following are the guidelines:
1. A win earns a team three points.
2. A draw earns one point for each team.
3. A team loses and receives 0 points.
If two or more teams end up with the same amount of points, the following criteria are used to differentiate them (next criteria is chosen if the previous one cannot separate the concerned teams)
1. The team with the most points in league matches between the two teams remains at the top.
2. The team with the greater goal differential in league matches between the relevant teams remains higher.
3. The side that scores the most goals in league matches between the two teams remains on top.
4. The club with the highest goal difference in the league stage remains at the top.
5. The team with the most goals in the league stage remains on top.
6. The team with the highest fair play ranking maintains its position.
7. The league draws lots.
