six-team T20 events for both men and women at 2028 Olympics ICC proposed

2028 Olympics: The ICC has recommended six-team T20 competitions for both men and women to LA28, the organisation in charge of planning the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, as part of its ongoing efforts to get cricket onto the main international sporting calendar.

Despite rumours to the contrary, ESPNcricinfo has learned that no decision has yet been made regarding cricket’s participation in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Instead, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will make a final determination in October following the completion of the LA28 organisers’ list of new sports by March. These will subsequently be validated at the IOC session in Mumbai, which is scheduled to take place in or around October of this year.
