Sisanda Magala is the replacement player for the Jamieson of team CSK. There are less than two weeks for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. And still, teams are shuffling their squad with different names. In between, there is news of Sisanda Magala’s being the replacement for Kyle Jamieson in the Chennai Super Kings squad. Magala is a pacer from South Africa, he has been signed with the CSK franchise in IPL with INR 50 Lakh.
Jamieson joined the Super Kings with a worth of INR 1 Crore. After the New Zealand player’s injury update, CSK was in a dilemma about how to cope with the substitute. But then Sisanda Magala’s name came out as the solution.

In response, IPL stated, “Jamieson, who was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury, was bought by the franchise for INR 1 Crore. His replacement, Magala, has rich experience in the shortest format of the game. Though he has played just 4 T20Is for South Africa, Magala has a reputation for being a regular wicket-taker in domestic T20 games over the years. He will join CSK at his base price of INR 50 Lakh.”

The 32-year-old bowler’s experience in this T20 format will be beneficial for the Kings. He is known as one of the best death bowlers for his country, South Africa. He has played a total of 127 matches and has bagged 136 wickets with an economy of 8.00. Also, he is a nice choice for hitting maximums in low-order positions. He has two half-centuries in his bucket with his highest score 63. His strike rate remains over 120.

CSK will play the very first league match of IPL against last year’s champion Gujarat Titans. The match is on 31st March at 7:30 pm in Ahmedabad. Magala also can be seen in South Africa’s squad against the Netherlands. According to SA’s match schedule, the SA players may join their respective teams late.
