Narrowly missing out on the award last year due to the 14 penalties awarded to Ciro Immobile by Serie A referees, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has struck the gold this year by being awarded the European Golden Shoe.
He won the award for making a record-breaking goal score of 41 goals in the 2020-2021 Bundesliga campaign by outscoring six Bundesliga clubs despite his injury that interrupted his performance for a month.

In 2020 he has become the best male footballer in the world. Lewandowski achieved this feat by beating Gerd Muller’s 40-goal-a- season record from 1971-72 season. Jurgen Klopp, Lewandowski’s first coach at German club Borussia Dortmund congratulated him. Klopp was all praises for Lewandowski as he said Robert deserved this award for he was always at the top.

Having won the Champions League, Bundesliga, German Cup, World Cup with Bayern and named the FIFA best player in 2020. Robert Lewandowski has just started as he might surpass his records and stands to be the top contender. And might also probably be the winner of the next Ballon d’Or.
