Rahul Dravid the former Indian Captain has been appointed as the new head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team. He will join and take the charge as a head coach of team India in upcoming New Zealand vs India home series which will start from the 17th of November. After the completion of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 campaign. While the upcoming series will consist of three T20Is and two tests.
Therefore, the current Indian head coach Ravi Shastri tenure will end after the T20 World cup. Dravid’s was appoint on a two-year contract. The decision was made by Board of Control for Cricket in India’s Cricket Advisory Committee comprising Sulakshana Naik and RP Singh on Wednesday.
On 26 October 2021, the Board of Control for Cricket in India had invited an application for a new coach. Therefore, the former Indian Captain send a formal application for the position. After his former team made and present BCCI president Sourav Ganguly convinced him to do so.
After appointing BCCI welcomes Rahul Dravid as the new head coach of India’s senior men’s cricket team. And by saying that Rahul Dravid is one of the greats of the game and has an illustrious career as a player. Dravid also served Indian cricket as a director of the National Cricket Academy with distinction.
During his time at the National Cricket Academy, Rahul Dravid assisted to set up rehabilitation programs and injury management for players. He also set up training courses for coaches across the country. And even developed roadmaps for age groups, men’s and women’s cricket at the NCA.
