The Capitals got off to a strong start with to Alice Capsey’s quickfire 38. Despite losing the dangerous Shafali Verma for a duck. But, a couple of fast wickets forced them to play cautiously. With Jemimah Rodrigues’ dismissal, the chase appeared frantic because Caps needed 42 runs off 33 balls. Yet in addition to steadily running singles, Jonassen and Kapp occasionally delivered monster shots that put the onus back on the Royal Challengers’ bowlers.

The Capitals needed nine off the final over when it came down to it. With the first two balls, Renuka Singh, who has been a little off-kilter in this WPL. Only allowed two runs. In order to put an end to the “RCB, RCB” chanting at the stadium, Jonassen clattered the ball over a leaping Perry at deep midwicket for six and then smashed a full delivery forcefully down the ground for four with seven needed off four.

Smriti Mandhana Statement News Update

According to Cric tracker report the statement given by both Smriti and Meg

Really good effort by our bowlers to take it till the 20th over. Definitely a lot of improvements but a lot of things to work on still. The partnership got us into the game, they both batted brilliantly. They used their experience to get us to a defendable total. Not the best of the starts, including my batting. The first 14 overs really hurt us, even 10-15 runs more would have helped. Towards the fag-end of the tournament, the wickets are going to get slower. Even in the last game, spinners got the ball to turn and pace-off and slower balls were working.

Meg Lanning statement News Update

It was close in the end there, JJ and Kappy did an excellent job to keep their composure. We got ahead and RCB bowled well to come back, nice to get over the line. It would have been nice to finish it earlier but the wicket got slower. Having two experienced batters at the end helped. We just executed really well, if you hit a good length, that’s the most effective way to bowl. A lot to learn from this game. To get a win under pressure will do wonders for our team. I am trying to stay calm – that’s T20 cricket for you, you are under the pump all the time. Shikha Pandey has been under the radar, she is bowling really well and having Kapp and Jess Jonassen on the field helps as well.

The captain of the Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to field first on the DY Patil Stadium’s somewhat two-paced pitch. While skipper Smriti Mandhana struggled with the bat for the fifth straight game, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, who were seeking their first victory of the tournament, did not get off to the best of starts.

Ellyse Perry and Sophie Devine, two of the RCB’s top run scorers, tried to mount a comeback. But Shikha Pandey delivered a devastating blow by knocking Devine’s leg stump over. Although the Bangalore-based franchise advanced ahead in the match, Heather Knight also lost to a well-known adversary in Tara Norris.
