McLaren unveils a special livery for the final round of 2022

McLaren is going to sign off their 2022 season with a special livery made in collaboration with a Lebanese artist.

McLaren racing is back with another special livery in this F1 season. The new livery comes in for the final round of the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship.

The team earlier showcased a special sponsored-themed livery for the Japanese and Singapore Grand Prix. The livery was a part of a special tribute to mark the return of the Asian venues in F1.

Now, the team has collaborated with Lebanese artist Anna Maria Aoun (also known as Anna Tangles) for the new livery. This collaboration is a part of the Driven by Change program. The program is initiated by McLaren and Vuse and is aimed at helping underrepresented artists to showcase their talents on the global stage using Motorsports as a medium.

McLaren, last season collaborated with Emirati artist Rabab Tantawy similarly for the Abu Dhabi GP.

“As a lifelong F1 fan, I never believed that I would one day have my artwork showcased at a Grand Prix – and it’s all thanks to Driven by Change,” said Tangles.

“I dedicate my spare time to training and encouraging other artists, particularly other Middle Eastern female creatives, to embrace their passion and skills, and so it’s a privilege to be a part of a community that supports the same ambition of empowering underrepresented artists in this way.”

The design clearly emphasizes the iconic design style of Tangles. It showcases her bold and linear designs which bring the dynamic design movement. At the same time, the true colors of the McLaren F1 team are also highlighted using the shade of blue and orange papaya colors.

The one-off livery will be the last color the MCL36 will wear before retiring. The McLaren team is still 19 points off the fourth position in the Constructors standings.
