The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been one of the most popular franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since its inception in 2008. Despite having some of the best players in the world, including former India captain Virat Kohli, RCB has never won the coveted IPL trophy. However, the team has made it to the playoffs several times and hopes to lift their maiden trophy in the upcoming 2023 season and RCB schedule is set now for the season.
Ahead of the 2022 edition of the tournament, Kohli stepped down from his role as captain, and RCB signed former Chennai Super Kings player Faf du Plessis as their new skipper. The South African cricketer led the team into the playoffs and impressed with his batting performances. Alongside du Plessis and Kohli, RCB’s squad includes some of the best players in the world, including Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Dinesh Karthik.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for IPL 2023 on February 17, 2023, and RCB’s first match will be against the Mumbai Indians on April 2, 2023, at their home ground, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru according to RCB schedule. The team will play a total of 14 games in the league stage, including seven home games and as many away games.
