On the 4 day of the Fourth Test match in India vs England Test series. In the second innings team India leading with 367 runs. India scores 46y runs with the loss of 10 wickets. So, in the second innings, he is the highest run-scorer with 127 runs follow by Cheteshwar Pujara 61 runs. Therefore, in the fourth test match, India star batsman’s Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli achieve several milestones.

As Rohit Sharma achieves his first maiden test century overseas and becomes the highest century hitter by an Indian batsman in England. Therefore he is also the second-fastest opener batsman to crosses the 11000 runs mark. Virat Kohli reaches his 23000 international runs and becomes the fastest to score with the shortest innings. The scoreline between India and England tied as 1-1.

First Test Century in Overseas

In the ongoing India vs England  Test series, Rohit Sharma scores his first maiden Test century. He achieves this milestone during day 3 of the 4th test match against England at Oval. During the 64 over off Moeen Ali by hitting six. Therefore, century by Rohit brings the team India in a stable position. As earlier they are 99 runs behind the home team. In a very pressure situation, the hitman plays with patient and control throughout the game. He also build a long partnerships with Cheteshwar Pujara of 153 runs.

Sharma took 204 balls which include twelve boundaries and a six to complete his eight test centuries. Therefore, he also completes his 3000 test runs with the century. The Indian vice Captain playing his 6 out of 16 test matches as an opener batsman outside the home. However, Rohit scored his first test century against the Caribbean West Indies during his debut in 2013 where he hit 2 tons. So, in total, he scores eight hundred in his 8 years of test career. From his 8 test centuries, seven of them came in home condition. The remaining one century he scored overseas is in England during the ongoing test series after 8 years.

 

Rohit breaks Rahul Dravid Record

After his maiden overseas century, he breaks the record of former Indian captain and wall of Indian test batsman Rahul Dravid. So, the hitman becomes the only Indian batsman to score most numbers of international centuries in England ground. Therefore, he achieves this milestone in India vs England  Test match series during the 3rd day of the 4th test match on Saturday. As he scores 127 runs from 256 balls. Early the record is eight centuries hold by Indian cricketing legend Rahul Dravid but now with nine centuries Rohit hold the record in his name.

Although, the highest number of Test centuries record by visiting players in England. Therefore, it is held by the legendary West Indies Batsman Donald Bradman of 11 centuries in England round. Despite the highest number of international hundreds in England. Rohit is also the only Indian player to score hundreds in all three formats.

 

Rohit hit 11000 runs

During the fourth test match between India and England. The Indian opener and limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma reach the 11000 runs mark. After reaching the runs mark he becomes the second-fastest opener batsman in the world to achieve this milestone after cricketing God Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar takes 241 innings to reach this landmark therefore Rohit took 241 innings to reach. Hitman is followed by cricketing legends like Mathew Hayden (251), Sunil Gavaskar (258) and Gordon Greenid (261) according to their innings.

However, the highest runs tally as an opener batsman is held by Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya. Jayasuriya scores more than 19000 runs in his career. Despite his runs, Rohit also has the highest batting average as an opener of 49.29.

 

Rohit Sharma’s Test Career

The 34-year-old opener batsman Rohit Sharma started his test career in the year 2013 in the match against West Indies. During his first series, he scores two hundred against the Caribbean. Although Sharma started his test career in a good nod.But his poor performance in overseas series and also couldn’t perform up to the expectation in the Test Cricket. Therefore, it seems questionable as he can perform in red-ball cricket or not. Despite his numerous batting talents, it’s always doubt of him in the red-ball cricket. As he is not that batsman who bats for a whole day and continuously repeat the other day.

But Sharma shows that why he is one of the best in the business by hitting his first-ever overseas hundred.
However, there is no doubt that in limited-overs cricket he is one of the best batsmen in the modern era who inspired a lot of young cricketers. As he already scored a double ton two times who is a tremendous record achieve by him in international cricket. Despite this, he has many more records in his name.

Moreover, the Rohit cricketing journey change after he was promot as an opener batsman from the middle order by Ms Dhoni. After playing as an Indian Opener he becomes unstoppable in achieving records and making runs.

In addition, Rohit in his 43 test matches he avails to score 3054 runs with a batting average of 48.7. And in ODI cricket he played around 227 matches where he scores around 9205 runs with a batting average of 48.96. Therefore, in 111 T20 matches Rohit scores around 2864 with a batting average of 32.18.

Virat Kohli

During the fourth match of the India vs England  Test series. Another Indian Skipper and one of the best cricketers in the world, Virat Kohli hits 23000 International runs. After hitting 23k runs in international cricket, Kohli becomes the fastest batsman to achieve this landmark according to the innings. As Kohli reached the landmark in just 490 innings. And he is follow by cricketing maestro Sachin Tendulkar who reach 23k runs in 522 innings. The other legends like Ricky Pointing took 544 innings to reach this mark.

In the fourth test match, Virat Kohli is already in 22999 runs before going for his inning. He crosses the 23000 runs with style by hitting a boundary on James Anderson’s delivery. Therefore, Virat Kohli scores his 27 half-centuries in the match. But immediately after his 50, he got dismisse by England bowler Ollie Robinson. However, the leading highest run-score in international cricket is held by Mumbai Maestro Sachin Tendulkar with 34000 plus runs. And in second Kumar Sangakkara 28000 plus. Therefore, the 32 years old stands in the seven positions of highest run scored in international cricket with 23000 plus runs.

Moreover, Virat Kohli in India vs England Test series didn’t perform that well. The Indian skipper scores 214 runs up to the 2nd innings of the fourth match in this Test series and is the fifth-highest runs getter. In addition, Kohli 23000 runs in international cricket include 7715 runs in his 96 test matches. Therefore, 12,169 runs in his 254 while in 90 T20ls, Kohli has accumulated 3159 runs.
