The European World Cup qualifier campaign for the 2022 World Cup at Qatar is going on and it is already reaching the final stage. So, after completing their half of the qualifying matches the condition of 55 countries divided into 10 groups according to their points
Group – A
Teams- Portugal, Serbia, Luxembourg, Republic of Ireland, Azerbaijan.
In the Group A of the European World Cup qualifier 2022 Qatar. From the five teams in the group, team Portugal becomes the table-toppers after their last win against Azerbaijan. On 25 August Portugal beat Azerbaijan with a 1-0 scoreline. As the goal is scored by the deflection of Azerbaijan player Medvedev in 36 minutes of the first half.
Therefore, Portugal with 13 points from 5 matches is a table topper followed by Serbia with 11 points from 5 matches. And the team Luxembourg is in third place with 6 points from 4 matches. However, the other two teams the Republic of Ireland and Azerbaijan is at no 4 and 5 positions with 2 and 1 points from their 5 matches each.
Group – B
Team- Sweden, Kosovo, Spain, Greece, Georgia
In group B of the European World Cup qualifier for 2022 at Qatar. From there five teams in the group, team Spain is at number one position with 10 points from their 5 games. The last match of Spain on 26 August against Greece makes them the table-toppers with a one-point lead from Sweden as the scoreline between Spain and Greece remains to draw with 1-1. Although, team Sweden played only three matches and two matches less than Spain.
So, Sweden has the chance to become the table toppers by surpassing Spain if they win their remaining matches. While, with 9 points from their last 3 matches Sweden is at second positions. Therefore, the other team Kosovo and Greece is at number 3 and 4 position with 4 and 3 points. However, Team Georgia is standing in the last position with only 1 point after their draw match against Greece.
Group – C
Teams- Italy, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Northern Ireland, Lithuania.
The New Europe leaders team Italy is leading the table of Group C in the European World Cup qualifier of 2022. The Euro 2020 Champions is leading the table with 4 points from Switzerland but Azzurri played 2 games more than Swiss. So, Switzerland has the great opportunity to lead the table by surpassing the Euro Cup winners if they win their remaining games.
So, Italy is leading the table with 11 points from their 5 matches. Whereas Switzerland is in the second position with 7 points from their 3 matches. However, the other team’s Bulgaria is in the third position with 5 points. And the other two teams Northern Ireland and Lithuania are in the last two positions with 4 and 0 points.
Group – D
The defending World Cup champions are again leading in the European world cup qualifier group stages. Although France is a table topper with 12 points they are struggling to win the games against teams like Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina. France is not in their best according to their qualifying campaign and their last Euro 2020 campaign.
Therefore, this world cup qualifying campaign for Ukraine is also not that great as they couldn’t win a single match. From their 5 matches, they have finished their all matches in draw scorelines. However, team Finland is looking more stable than Ukraine as they have managed to win one match from their 4 matches. However other two team Bosina and Kazakhstan are at number four and fifth position from the last 4 and 5 matches.
Group – E
Teams- Belgium, Czech Republic, Wales, Belarus and Estonia
The FIFA World rankings table topper Belgium is also the leading points table. In the Group E of the European World cup qualifier with 13 points. From the five matches, Belgium manages to win their 4 matches and drawn one match against the Czech Republic with a 1-1 scoreline.. Therefore, with seven points the Czech Republic is in the second position from their last five matches.
Wales in the third position with six points from their matches. So, Wales has a chance to become in the top two teams at Group C if they win in their upcoming matches. Therefore, the other team’s Belarus and Estonia is at number fourth and fifth position with 3 and 0 points.
Group – F
Teams- Denmark, Scotland, Israel, Austria, Faroe Islands, Moldova
The Danish team is continuing their great run from their last successful Euro 2020 Campaign. So, Denmark and England is the only team in the European World Cup qualifier to win all of their last matches. Therefore, with great form in the ongoing world cup qualifier campaign they are the table topper with 18 points from their 6 matches. Team Scotland is in the second position with 11 points from their 6 matches.
Whereas Israel is at number third position with 10 points from their 6 matches. However, the other three teams Austria, Faroe Islands and Moldova is in 4th, 5th and 6th position. Austria has 7 points, the Faroe Islands with 4 points and Moldova has 1 point from their sixth matches each.
Teams- Netherlands, Turkey, Gibraltar, Montenegro, Norway and Latvia
From the 10 groups for the European World Cup qualifier 2022 the group G is seen as the toughest group. Because of the tough fight in the points table between the three teams Netherlands, Turkey and Norway. The three teams after completing their sixth matches each team Netherlands is at 13 points as a table topper, whereas team Norway is at second place with 13points and Turkey is at third place with 11 points. So, the main competition is between Norway and Netherlands. But Turkey can also lead the race if they win all the remaining matches and the other two need to lose their remaining matches.
Turkey got a little cut-down in the top spot race. After they finished the match with a loss with a 6-0 scoreline against the Netherlands. Therefore the other three teams are Montenegro, Latvia and Gibraltar. They are placed in fourth, fifth and sixth position with 8, 5 and 0 points.
Group – H
Teams- Slovakia, Cyprus, Croatia, Malta, Russia and Slovenia
In the Group H of the World Cup qualifier, Croatia is becoming the table-toppers after their last win in the match against Slovenia. Although the points between Croatia and Russia are equal. But due to the goals differences, Croatia is in the one place and Russia is in the second position. Both the countries have 13, 13 points each from their sixth matches.
Therefore, there is tough competition between the two countries Croatia and Russia. However, in third-place Slovakia secure their place with 9 points from the sixth match. Moreover, the three remaining countries are Slovenia, Malta and Cyprus. They are in fourth, fifth and sixth place with 7, 4 and 4 points from their 6 games each.
Group – I
Teams- England, Hungary, Poland, San Marino, Albania and Andorra
The Euro 2020 runner-ups England are the only country along with Denmark that has wins all of their last matches. So, England is number 1 in the Group I points table with 15 points from their 5 matches. The Southgate’s team is maintaining their Euro forms and takes 5 points to lead from the Polish. As Poland is in the second position with 10 points from their 5 matches.
And Albania is in the third position with 9 points from the fifth match. Therefore, a tight fight is going on between Poland and Albania. However, the remaining three countries Hungary, Andorra and San Marino are standing at fourth, fifth and sixth position with 7, 3 and 0 points. Despite their tremendous run in the Euro 2020, Hungary is struggling in the world cup qualifier against Poland and England.
Group – J
Teams- North Macedonia, Germany, Romania, Iceland, Armenia and Liechtenstein
Last but not least in Group J the Germans is leading tables with 12 points from their last five matches. Although in group J there are not heavyweight team’s like Germany but countries like North Macedonia and Armenia is giving a tough fight to the Germans. As Germany is got defeated only by North Macedonia from their five matches. Therefore, Armenia is in the second position with just two points behind Germany.
Armenia can fill the gap if they win their match against the bottom team in the group Liechtenstein and the remaining matches. And Germany will face the tough team Iceland but underperforming in the world cup qualifier.
