Dwayne Bravo announced his retirement from International Cricket after West Indies Exit


West Indies legend Dwayne Bravo is set to retire from international cricket after as he informed on Thursday. So, Bravo will retire after the end of the ongoing T20 world cup 2021 campaign. While the announcement comes after the match of West Indies vs Sri Lanka.


Earlier, in 2018 he already announced his retirement but after a year of the announcement, he come back to international cricket. During the announcement, he said that the “time has come”. He had a very good career and is proud to represent West Indies for the last 18 years with some ups and downs he further added.


During his 18 years playing for West Indies Bravo totally played around 294 matches. That includes 40 test matches, 164 ODI matches and 90 T20I matches.


Dwayne Bravo performance in the ongoing T20 world cup campaign


West Indies vs England

During the first match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the defending Champions collapse as they got all out in just 55 runs against England. While in the match Bravo couldn’t perform as he got out in 5 runs.

West Indies vs South Africa

West Indies again lost their second match of the T20 World Cup campaign this time against South Africa. Therefore, in the match, West Indies try to come back with their batting as they avail to score 143 runs in 20 overs. But their bowling department collapses as they can take two wickets of South African batsmen. However, Dwayne Bravo again shows poor performance with his bat but with the ball, he displays his brilliant spell. As he is the only most economy bowler for West Indies in the match.


West Indies vs Bangladesh


In the third match of the campaign against Bangladesh, the West Indies registered their first win. Hence, the Caribbean beats the Bangla Tigers with 3 runs remaining. As West Indies scores 142 runs in 20 overs in the first inning so, Bangladesh came to bat in the second innings. Therefore, Bangladesh failed to score 142 runs as they avil to score 139 runs in 20 overs. However, in the match, Bravo fails to deliver with both bat and bowl despite his one wicket.


West Indies vs Sri Lanka


In the fourth match of the T20 World Cup tournament, West Indies lost against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka provides a huge score on board of 189 runs with the loss of only 3 wickets, as the West Indies bowling department collapses. Therefore, Dwayne Bravo again displays his poor performance.


However, Dwayne Bravo couldn’t perform well in the whole campaign of the T20 World Cup 2021. Moreover, West Indies the defending champions are out of the tournament. Currently, the Caribbean is standing at fifth position with 4 losses from their five matches. West Indies will finish their World Cup campaign today. As they will face Australia in their last match.
