Chris Wilder was appointed a new manager of Middlesbrough after Warnock leaves


Chris Wilder the 54th-year-old professional English manager appointed as the new boss of Middlesbrough. Wilder comes as a replacement for Neil Warnock as he shortly leaves the club after the drawn match with West Brom (1-1) on Saturday.


While the former Sheffield United boss was off-field since 2020-21 season ends after leaving Bramall Lane. Therefore, Chris Wilder was the manager of Bramall for five seasons. So, after a few months of break, Wilder is back to business as he will take the charge of Middlesbrough from Tuesday. However, North Yorkshire didn’t disclose the duration of the contract that has been signed between both parties.


During his time in South Yorkshire, Chris Wilder led the club from the third tier to the level of top-flight. Due to his achievement, he won League one manager of the year by the League manager association. He also leads the club towards the top 10 positions in Premier League in 2019-20 seasons.


But unfortunately in their second season of Premier League, they couldn’t maintain their form. And badly struggled with their form and finish their 2nd season at the bottom of the points table.


Why Neil Warnock leaves the club?


Neil Warnock has left South Yorkshire after 17 months of service just after the drawn match with West Brom. The 72nd-year-old veteran join the club in the year 2020 in June. He manages the club when the situation is challenging due to the pandemic. Recently, before leaving the club he becomes the first and only English manager when he clocked up 1602 games.


Warnock staff Ronnie Jepson and Kevin Blackwell will also leave the club in a few days. He leaves the club with mutual consent between both parties. As per the other sources, it is said that Warnock is already decided to leave the club before the match against West Bromwich.


Currently, South Yorkshire are standing in the 14th position after their 17 matches in the Championship. While the club is 4 points behind the knock stage even after Warnock three games defeat in a row. Moreover, Chris Wilder will debut as a manager of Middlesbrough in their home game after the International breaks against Millwall on 20th November.
