Taniya Sapna Bhatia’s Childhood
Taniya Bhatia an Indian women’s cricketer, was born on November 28, 1997 in Chandigarh, Punjab. Tanya Bhatia’s father, Sanjay Bhatia, was a wicket-keeper batsman who also represented All India University before working in a bank.
Taniya began playing cricket at the age of four. However, Tanya’s greatest motivation was his father. Sanjay saw Harleen’s aptitude at a young age and quickly began training at the cricket school.
Taniya became interested in cricket after wanting to carry on his family’s history. Harleen also changed coaches to improve her skill level and began working with Sukhwinder Bawa. However, he was Harleen’s father’s batchmate, and they both played cricket.
She soon met Yograj Singh and a former cricketer at the DAV public school, who also encouraged Tanya try out for the Punjab Team.

Taniya Bhatia, who is 11 years old, joined the Punjab U-19 squad. She was also the youngest player in Punjab domestic cricket history. In 2011, she was selected to play for the Senior Punjab squad in an inter-state domestic event.
Taniya Bhatia, a young cricketer, was given the opportunity to head the U-19 North Zone in an inter-zonal cricket competition held in Guwahati in 2015. Taniya scored 227 runs in his one and only encounter.

Taniya is also the first female cricketer from Chandigarh to make the national squad. She made her debut appearance in an ODI against Sri Lanka the following year. Taniya produced a superb inning against Sri Lanka, earning her the position of team Wicketkeeper number one.
Her outstanding performance in the ODI series won her a spot in the Indian side for the ICC World T20 2018 in the West Indies. Taniya was picked to the Indian team for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia in 2020.
She was named to the Test squad for the 2021 match against England Women’s Cricket Team.
