Ballon d’or 2021:- Full list of Nominated candidates for both Men’s and Women’s awards


One of the best Individual awards in the world is the Ballon d’or 2021. It is organised by France Football every year to award the best player in the world for the season to both Men’s and Women’s categories. So after cancelling the event by France Football in the last year due to the pandemic. France Football is back to organise the event this year.


Therefore, they have recently released the 30 men’s and 20 women’s shortlist candidates for the Ballon d’Or 2021. While the event is going to be held on the 29th of November this year in France. Apart from Ballon d’or nominees France also released other two prestigious award nominees of Kopa Trophy and Yashin Trophy. After a decade it is the first time that ceremony will be an open race as they are no clear favourites to win the award.


The Ballon d’or nominees are selected with a certain process for both Men and Women. As from all over the world 180 journalists panels took part in the selection process for 30 Men’s nominations. While in the Women nomination of 20 candidates 50 panels of journalists take part in the process. However, for the Yashin Trophy nomination, the same panellists that pick 30 Men’s have also picked the 10 nominations for Yashin Trophy.


Moreover, again one of the greatest footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi is on the list with other superstars like Robert Lewandowski, Kevin De Bruyne, Jorginho etc in the list. While from the list of 30 players Lionel Messi has little bite more chance to win his seventh Ballon d’Or after his Copa America title. But on the other side, Jorginho won Euro 2020 with Italy. And Robert Lewandowski broke Gerd Muller’s record and was last time favourite to win the award.

Which club’s has the most number of nominated players


The most of nominated players from the club are tied to two clubs between Manchester City and Chelsea. So, both the teams have five players each in the nomination of Ballon d’Or 2021. Therefore one club is the current Champion of UEFA Champions League and the other one is the runner-up of Champions League. They are followed by Paris Saint-German as their four are in the nomination.



On the other hand, the club with the most number of Ballon d’or 2021 nominations is also tied between the two clubs FC Barcelona and Chelsea FC. Both the clubs have five players nominated each for the award.
