Pakistani Captain and cricketer batsmen Mohammad Babar Azam. The 26 years old was born on the 15th of October in 1994 in Lahore Pakistan. He is widely known for his brilliant batting techniques in the World. Recently in the new update from ICC in rankings, Babar Azam was included under the top 3 list in the format of cricket.

In ODI batting rankings Babar Azam tops the list with 873 points, by surpassing the last 4 years No. 1 batsman and Indian Captain Virat Kohli by 29 points.

While in T20 cricket he slips to the No 2 position in the new ICC rankings with 795 points and gets defeat by England batsmen David Malan by 24 points. Babar Azam belongs to a cricketer family as his both cousin brothers Kamran Akmal and Umar Akmal are Professional Pakistani cricketers. He was inspire to play cricket by his cousin brothers.

Babar Azam: Domestic career

The 26-year-old right-handed batsmen Babar Azam his cricketing journey in Domestic Leagues. He joins Zarai Taraqiati Bank Ltd in 2010 at the age of 14. After playing with Taraqiati Bank Ltd, he plays Islamabad Leopards in the 2012 to 2014 season.

During his campaign with both Taraiqiati Bank Ltd and Islamabad Leopards. Babar Azam won as an emerging player. In the Quaid-e-Azam trophy, he plays for the State Bank of Pakistan and Sui A southern Gas Company for some years.

National T20 Cup

Babar Azam was appoint as a captain of the newly formed team Central Punjab in 2019 for the National T20 Cup. After being name as a Captain of the team he leads the team Central Punjab towards the Final. In the final, they win the National T20 Cup by defeating Northern.

Due to his 2019 brilliant seasons both as a player and a Captain, Central Punjab retains him for the season 2020-21 both as a player and team am Captain. During his campaign in the 2020 National T20 Cup with Central Punjab. He makes a record to be the fastest player in the history of the National T20 Cup to score 1000 in just his 27 innings.

The new Domestic tournament Pakistan Super League was formed in the year 2016. In the first season of the League Babar Azam represents a team in Islamabad United. The next season he joins team Karachi Kings, where he plays brilliantly by scoring 291 runs.. He finishes as second top run-scorer after Kamran Akmal his cousin with a batting average of 32.33 in each innings.

After his fantastic performance in the last season team, Karachi Kings retains him. In the second season with Karachi Kings, he becomes the third-highest scorer in the tournament. In 2020 Karachi Kings makes him a team captain.

He is the highest run-scorer of Pakistan Super League tournament. That helps the team to clean the title in 2020. Babar Azam won Player of the tournament and also won two men of the match.

Foreign Leagues

Babar Azam joins his first Foreign League in Bangladesh Premier League brought by the Rangpur Rangers franchise in 2016. Unfortunately, he couldn’t perform in the league due to his national duties. His second Foreign League campaign is in West Indies. He joins Caribbean Premier League with the Guyana Amazon Warriors franchise in 2017

After completing his CPL and BPL leagues. He was brought by the English team Somerset for Blast Country T20 Cricket tournament in 2019. During the tournament, he scores 578 runs with a batting average of 52.54 in his 13 matches. He was the highest run-scorer in the tournament.

In 2020, at Blast Country T20 Cricket tournament he retain by his team, Somerset. In the tournament, he achieves a milestone of fastest Asian and third fastest in the world to score 5000 runs in T20 in terms of innings. He achieves this milestone match against Glamorgan where he scores 114 runs.

In the tournament, Somerset could not qualify for the quarter by being eliminate from the group stages. However, he becomes the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament, by scoring 218 runs with a batting average of 36.63 in his 7 matches.

 

Babar Azam: International career

The 26-year-old Babar Azam got his first call from his national side Pakistan for the ODI series against Zimbabwe in 2015. In two ODI matches, he doesn’t get a place in the starting XI. He made the debut of his international career in the 3rd ODI match against Zimbabwe. In his debut match, he got his maiden half-century runs.

 

After his impressive performance in his debut match, Babar Azam got a place in both Tests and ODI squad against Sri Lanka. But in the Test series, he couldn’t get his debut match.

T20 Debut

In the year 2016, Babar Azam got his T20 debut match against England during Pakistan your to England. In his first, he only avails to scores 15 runs that help Pakistan to won the series and the match.

Test Debut

After a year later, he made his test debut in 2016 against West Indies. During his test match, he scores his first maiden half-century.

Babar Azam records and achievements

During his ODI series against West Indies. He scores his first maiden Century in ODI cricket. In the series by his tremendous performance, he scored 3 consecutive centuries. He made a record of scoring the most runs by an individual and was the only player in total score 350+ runs in 3match ODI.

 

In 2017, the ODI series against Australia makes another record by joining the fastest 1000 run-scorer in ODI. He is also the only Pakistani player to reach the 1000 run mark in just 21 innings.

Again in the 2nd ODI series against Australia, he made another record of scoring the most runs in just 25 innings. In the match, Babar Azam scores 125 runs.

Babar Azam T20 career

He won his first man of the match award in T20, by scoring 86 runs in the first T20 match in 2017. In the same year in the PCB award, Babar Azam wins the Pakistan player of the year award.. Because he scores the highest runs in both ODI and T20 matches.

Pakistan tour to New Zealand in the year 2018 of five ODI and three T20I. However, the ODI doesn’t go well for both Pakistan and Babar Azam as they get the worst defeat by New Zealand 0-5. But in the T20 matches, Babar Azam comes back by scoring one half-century, 40 and 18 runs in three T20 matches. After his brilliant T20 series against New Zealand. He becomes the No 1 batsman in T20 cricket and the second Pakistani player to achieve this milestone after Misbah-ul-Haq.

In 2019, Babar Azam plays his first World Cup matches and becomes one of the most exciting cricketers to make his World Cup debut. In the campaign, he is the most run-scorer Pakistani batsman in the single edition bypassing Javed Miandad. During his 8 innings, he scored 474 runs.

Babar Azam was appoint as Pakistan T20 Captain against Bangladesh series in the year 2020. So, it is the first series won by Babar Azam as a Pakistan Captain. He also won the player of the series award first as a Captain.
